One of the best Oi!/RAC albums of its time. We’re talking about the debut album “Patriotic Voice,” released in 1989 by the first American Oi! band, Arresting Officers, with which the musicians delivered a combination of “guts” and melody. You can say a lot about the band—that they were “right-wing” or even went a step further in their own way. The fact is that the guys from Philadelphia were American patriots in the truest sense of the word. Therefore, it was far from their minds to spread the message of U.S. imperialism, for which patriotism had been abused by the transatlantic establishment for decades.

As the band name already hinted, their sound always had a bit of a “police arrest” vibe to it and was a mix of Oi!, punk, and hard rock, which explains where many later American Oi! bands drew their inspiration from. There isn’t a single bad song on the entire album, and thanks to the digital vinyl remastering, the record now sounds almost exactly like the “Land and Heritage” LP released a year later. Anyone who owns both records in their original form will be amazed at the sonic richness that the remastering has brought out.
