The album “A Cry of Pain” (or: “Cry of Pain”) was first released in 1991 on Herbert Egoldt's Rock-O-Rama Records (sub-label “United Records”) and was also the band's third and last studio album under contract on this label.
Skullhead was a British rock-against-communism (RAC) band from the Newcastle area in the 80s. Along with Brutal Attack, Skrewdriver and No Remorse, they were one of the most notable bands of this genre. Led by Kev Turner, who later became known as “MC Techno T” in the rave scene in the North East of England, they started out as an Oi! style band and then took elements from heavy metal and other types of rock music. Skullhead described themselves as a “third position” band and mainly wrote lyrics about British pride, Norse gods and anti-capitalism.
Important note: The songs “Breeding Center” and “The Warning” are NOT included on this album. They had to be removed for legal reasons. Instead, three songs from the “No Surrender” and “Gods of War” samplers were added. In addition, the song “Fighting for Victory” had to be slightly edited digitally for legal reasons.
Strictly limited to 499 units, hand-numbered, digitally remastered (vinyl mastering), only available in red 12 inch vinyl. 2nd edition, 11 songs with approx. 44 minutes playing time.
