Revised new edition, Edition 2023
The official Public Enemy re-release on the original label - not a bootleg, not a “private edition” and not an “imported fan edition” by dubious scene crooks at brothel prices and also not a record with a fraudulently legal pseudo-“band license”!
Album by this patriotic British Oi! band, released on LP in 1986 and re-released on CD in 1995. Incidentally, “England's Glory” was recorded and mixed by none other than Mark Sutherland in the legendary “Bunker Croydon” recording studio. Sutherland has already brought his musical expertise to bear on other important albums (and also played drums for Skrewdriver on their “Hail the new dawn” album). Unfortunately, “England's Glory” has been somewhat forgotten between all the releases of that time, which does the musical achievement of this band a complete injustice. Reason enough to re-release “England's Glory” on vinyl!
Public Enemy (consisting of Martin, Richard and Darrin) disbanded shortly after the recording of this album. However, the band was brought back to life about a year later by Paul Burnley (No Remorse) with other musicians. So this chapter in the band's history not only represents a musical break, but also one in the (lyrical) content. In retrospect, one can speak of two different bands that merely bore the same name. In the original line-up, Public Enemy played a rough and catchy sound with a pleasing guitar, whose compact songs easily put the later rumble combos in their pockets.
This LP finally includes the 12th song “Sound of the Streets”, which is listed on the back cover of the 1986 edition but was never actually on the LP.
Unfortunately, one song had to be removed from the track list of the original LP. However, a total of 3 songs were added that had previously only been available on samplers, increasing the track list on this LP from 12 to a total of 14 songs.
